Credit history check for employment
August 16, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Have you ever gone to apply for a job and were surprised to find out that your employer wants to do a credit history check on you before you can be hired? I went with my sister because she wanted to apply for a job and on the application, it asked for permission to run her credit history. This got me thinking about the reasons a business has to run credit checks on people that apply for a job. I mean, its understandable that an employer has to do a criminal background check to find out if the person they are looking to hire is reliable. I just do not see a reason for anyone to be running a credit check on the people who apply for jobs.

There are a few correlations that I can think of between having bad credit and work performance. Lets see if its really necessary for your employer to run a credit history check on you.

There are many criteria a person should look at when deciding which investment firm will be the best for their needs. Why buying bottled water is a bad idea
August 9, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
The idea of having water in a bottle is great. Its portable and can be used to quench your thirst any time you feel the need. But is buying it in little plastic bottles really what we should be doing?
There is definitely a need to have bottled water with you if you are going on a jog, in the hot Sun or just about anywhere else. Although bottled water makes our lives easier because its highly mobile, you should look at something other than buying it in plastic bottles.
Not only is having water in a plastic bottle bad, businesses are completely ripping you off and laughing all the way to the bank while doing it! This business idea boomed in the 1990s when people started buying bottled water in bulk. Ever since then hundreds of companies have entered this arena to make billions in profits.

In today’s fast moving world, having an email address is crucial. Whats even more important is that as a business, you must use the right type of email address! Most people do not pay attention to this issue, but the truth is that it says a lot more about you and your business than you think!
With millions of business email services out there, how do you find the one that is right for you? Well that is the big question I will try to discuss and hopefully shed some light on in this article.
The most obvious email services people use are provided by three giants; Microsoft, Yahoo, and Google. There are many others that are less known but most people opt to use one of these three. While its understandable that using an email service that is free has its benefits, it can also make your clients take you less seriously!
Businesses are data mining for your habits

Most people are not aware that every time they buy something at a store, their habits are being watched closely and analyzed by data miners. There is a huge market for finding out what consumers are buying so they can be sold more of what they are buying, thus successfully increasing profits for the company.

I was buying groceries at a local Target store just a couple days ago when I noticed a trend in prices. Many of the smaller things in the frozen foods section were listed as $2.09. Seeing this got me wondering about how they reach that conclusion. I mean, they could have set the prices lower, higher, or even different from one another, but no. They wanted to use the price of $2.09 and I wanted to know why!
College education is too important to not have
August 4, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Too many times do I hear people saying that college education is a waste of time and money. To them, life experiences are worth more than a degree. I do believe what they are saying is correct to a certain degree, but one has to keep in mind that college education is only what you make of it! If a person is going to college only to party and get a piece of paper after 4 years, its probably better for her to just save the money. For others who are going to college to learn how to think, to make connections and to absorb the material that helps humanity advance, you have made the right choice!

It is true that not every person that goes to college is making the right choice for him or herself. But do not try to tell the people that are going to college that they are wasting their money just because you chose not to. One thing almost everyone forgets is that not everyone has the same goals as others when they make a choice to attend college. For example, you might have been blessed with a way to make money without ever having to step in a classroom, but that same opportunity is not going to be available to everyone else. Just because never having to attend college worked out for you, it might not work out for others.
